5 AAC 02.225 - Subsistence king crab fishery

(a) Except for golden king crab as described in (b) of this section, the subsistence taking of king crab in the Prince William Sound Area is closed until the king crab stocks recover enough to provide a harvestable surplus and regulations are adopted by the Board of Fisheries that reopen the fishery.
(b) In the Prince William Sound Area, in the subsistence taking of golden king crab,
(1) golden king crab may be taken only from October 1 through March 31;
(2) golden king crab may be taken only in the waters west of 147ยบ 20.00' W. long.;
(3) only male golden king crab seven inches or greater in width of shell may be taken or possessed;
(4) an annual limit per household is three male golden king crab.
