(a) Repealed

(c) Except when taken as
allowable bycatch in a directed fishery, a person may take miscellaneous
groundfish on an experimental basis in the Prince William Sound Area only under
the conditions of a permit issued by the commissioner necessary for
conservation or management purposes. In consideration of whether to issue a
permit under this section, the commissioner may consider whether the harvested
fish can be fully utilized. In the permit, the commissioner may
(1) specify the depth of fishing
gear;
(2) specify the fishing
season and periods of fishing;
(3)
specify the area for fishing;
(4)
establish the allowable size of harvested fish;
(5) specify the type and configuration of
gear;
(6) require the completion of
logbooks provided by the department and require that the logbooks be attached
to a fish ticket at the time of landing; and
(7) require other other conditions that the
commissioner determines are necessary for conservation or management
purposes.
(d) For the
purpose of this section, "miscellaneous groundfish" are those species of
groundfish that are not specified in
5 AAC 28.200 -
5 AAC 28.271.
