8 AAC 80.080 - Pressure or temperature controls
(a) An
automatically fired steam boiler must be protected by
(1) a high-limit safety control, set to
prevent the pressure from exceeding the maximum allowable working pressure of
the boiler; and
(2) an operating
control designed to cut off the fuel supply if the pressure reaches an
operating limit; the operating limit must be less than the maximum allowable
working pressure of the boiler.
(b) An automatically fired hot water heating
or hot water supply boiler must be protected by
(1) a high-limit safety control that is set
to prevent the temperature from exceeding the marked maximum water temperature
at the boiler outlet; and
(2) an
operating control designed to cut off the fuel supply when the temperature
reaches an operating limit; the operating limit must be less than the maximum
water temperature of the boiler.
