Ariz. Admin. Code § R18-13-1203 - Cover Requirements
A. The
operator shall cover all mining industry off-road motor vehicle waste tires
buried pursuant to this Article with a minimum of 6 inches of earthen material
within 50 days of placement, or sooner if necessary, to prevent vector breeding
or fire.
B. The operator shall
place final cover over the off-road motor vehicle waste tires within 180 days
after placement of the last tire which will be buried in a cell. The final
cover shall consist of earthen material which is at least 3 feet deep or which
complies with the requirements of the aquifer protection permit for the area
where the burial cell is located.
C. The operator shall maintain final cover in
compliance with this Section for as long as the mining industry off-road motor
vehicle waste tires remain in the burial cell.
