Ariz. Admin. Code § R9-7-741 - Additional Radiation Surveys of Sealed Sources used in Radiation Therapy
A. In addition to
the survey requirement in Article 4 of this Chapter, a person licensed to use
sealed sources in the practice of radiation therapy shall make surveys to
ensure that the maximum radiation levels and average radiation levels from the
surface of the main source safe with each source in the shielded position do
not exceed the levels stated in the Sealed Source and Device
Registry.
B. A licensee shall make
the survey required by subsection (A) at installation of a new source and
following repairs to any source shielding, a source's driving unit, or other
electronic or mechanical component that could expose the source, reduce the
shielding around a source, or compromise the radiation safety of the unit or
the source.
C. A licensee shall
retain a record of the radiation surveys required by subsection (A) for three
years from the date of each survey.
