Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 2, § 599.784 - Reinstatement

A report of the reinstatement of an employee upon return from a leave of absence shall be made immediately by the appointing power to the Department. At the same time, the appointing power shall file with the Department a notice of the separation of the employee who filled the position during the absence of the employee on leave.
