Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 22, § 51115.1 - Organized Outpatient Clinic Services
(a) "Organized Outpatient Clinic Services"
means preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services that
are:
(1) Provided to outpatients;
(2) Provided by a facility that is not part
of a hospital but is organized and operated to provide medical care to
outpatients; and
(3) Except in the
case of certified nurse-midwife services, furnished by or under the direction
of a physician or dentist.
(b) A clinic may not provide patients with
room and board and professional services on a continuous 24-hour-a-day
basis.
(c) Eligibility for clinic
services is limited to those patients:
(1) Who
for the purpose of receiving necessary health care go or are brought to a
clinic;
(2) Who receive services in
the clinic;
(3) Who within a
24-hour period leave the clinic site at which the services are
provided.
