Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 22, § 53652 - Request for Hearing
(a) Within 20 days after the filing of a
Notice of Defense, any party may file a request for a hearing. Each party may
appear before the hearing officer, personally or by representative, and
participate in the hearing if any party files a timely request for
hearing.
(b) Each party shall be
deemed to have waived the right to a hearing if a timely request for a hearing
is not filed. The hearing officer may proceed to render a decision upon the
written record, as provided in Section
53654.
(c) Where a hearing has not been requested,
one may still be held upon a proper showing of good cause or at the discretion
of the hearing officer.
