Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 22, § 66265.25 - Seismic and Precipitation Design Standards
(a) Except as provided by section
66265.192, facilities subject to
this chapter and all cover systems and drainage control systems required by
this chapter shall be designed to function without failure when subjected to
capacity, hydrostatic and hydrodynamic loads resulting from a 24-hour probable
maximum precipitation storm.
(b)
The following shall be designed, constructed and maintained to withstand the
maximum credible earthquake without the level of public health and
environmental protection afforded by the original design being decreased:
(1) all surface impoundments, waste piles,
landfills and land treatment facilities subject to this chapter; and
(2) all covers and cover systems required by
this chapter and all containment and control features which will remain after
closure at permanent hazardous waste disposal areas.
