Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 22, § 72627 - Soiled Linen
(a)
Soiled linen shall be handled, stored and processed in a manner that will
prevent the spread of infection.
(b) Soiled linen shall be sorted in a
separate room by methods affording protection from contamination.
(c) Soiled linen shall be stored and
transported in a closed container which does not permit airborne contamination
of corridors and areas occupied by patients and precludes cross contamination
of clean linen.
(d) When laundry
chutes are used to transport soiled linen, they shall be maintained in a clean,
sanitary state.
