Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 4, § 545 - Second's License
In order to be issued a second's license, an applicant shall meet all the following requirements:
(a) Pass a written examination administered
by the commission on the fundamentals of martial arts and kickboxing and
California laws and regulations relating to martial arts and
kickboxing.
(b) Perform a
demonstration of competency by demonstrating the duties of a second before a
representative of the commission.
(c) The examination and demonstration of
competency may be waived if the applicant possesses a current and valid license
as a martial arts and kickboxing second in another state or country and has not
been subject to any disciplinary action.
