Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 8, § 2940.1 - Voltage Determination and Energized Equipment or Systems
(a) All electrical
equipment and systems shall be treated as energized until tested or otherwise
proven to be deenergized.
(b)
Operating voltage of equipment or conductors shall be determined before working
on or near energized parts.
(c) The
employer shall provide and require employees to use suitable personal
protective equipment when testing or determining voltage.
