Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 8, § 3093.50 - Data Plates

A data plate indicating the weight of the elevator, the rated speed, the suspension means, the manufacturer's name, and the date of installation shall be installed in a conspicuous place in the machinery area. The letters and figures on such plates shall be not less than ¼ in. (6.3 mm) in height.
