Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 9, § 31420 - Calculation of Payments Due the Division
(a) The county from which a person subject to
this chapter is committed shall pay the Division at the rate defined in Section
912
of the Welfare and Institutions Code. For billing purposes, the monthly rate
will be converted to a daily rate by dividing the monthly rate by 30 and
rounding to the nearest cent.
(b)
This rate shall be applied to all individuals subject to this chapter who are
confined in Division facilities as directed by the Division. Charges will not
apply to youth who are missing or out to court.
(c) Youth with multiple commitments will be
billed based upon the most recent juvenile court commitment.
(d) Youth with commitment from multiple
counties will be billed based upon the most recent juvenile court commitment.
The county responsible for the most recent juvenile court commitment will be
billed, unless the most recent commitment is the result of prosecution
requested by the Division. In that case, the county previously responsible for
the youth will continue to be billed.
(e) The Division will bill each county
monthly. Charges will be based upon the actual days of confinement of youth
subject to this chapter. A full month will consist of 30 days for billing
purposes.
(f) The county will be
billed for the day the youth is received by the Division but not for the day
the youth departs from the Division.
(g) The amount owed will be computed by
multiplying the number of days of confinement by the daily rate.
