4 CCR 728-1.11 - PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY INSURANCE
This Rule is promulgated pursuant to sections 12-20-204, 12-275-108(1)(b), and 12-275-128(2)(a), C.R.S. An optometrist who qualifies for one of the following categories is exempt from the professional liability requirements.
A. An optometrist who is a public employee of
the State of Colorado under the Colorado Governmental Immunity Act, in section
24-10-101, et.
seq., C.R.S.;
B. An
optometrist who performs optometric services exclusively as a civilian or
military employee of the United States government;
C. An optometrist who holds an inactive
license;
D. An optometrist who does
not engage in any patient care within Colorado; or
E. An optometrist who is covered by
individual professional liability insurance maintained by an
employer/contracting agency in the amounts set forth in section
12-275-128(1),
