Except as specifically required by other Department rules
or Florida Statutes, all domestic wastewater facilities shall provide, at a
minimum, secondary treatment of wastewater prior to reuse or disposal.
Secondary treatment requirements are specified below:
(1) Surface water disposal (excluding
discharges to open ocean outfalls, but including discharges to Class III
coastal waters)
(a)

1. The annual
average shall not exceed 20.0 mg/L,
2. The monthly average shall not exceed 25.0
mg/L,
3. The weekly average shall
not exceed 40.0 mg/L,
4. The
maximum-permissible concentration in any single sample shall not exceed 60.0
mg/L; and,
5. The monthly average
percent removal shall not be less than 85%.
(b) Total Suspended Solids
1. The annual average shall not exceed 20.0
mg/L,
2. The monthly average shall
not exceed 30.0 mg/L,
3. The weekly
average shall not exceed 45.0 mg/L,
4. The maximum-permissible concentration in
any single sample shall not exceed 60.0 mg/L; and,
5. The monthly average percent removal shall
not be less than 85%.
(2) Surface water disposal via open ocean
outfalls
(a) CBOD
