Fla. Admin. Code Ann. R. 62-737.300 - Prohibitions
(1) Effective
January 1, 1996, any mercury-containing device or device components that
contains mercury shall not knowingly be disposed of in landfills or incinerated
in any manner prohibited by Section
403.7186,
F.S.
(2) Spent mercury-containing
lamps or residuals therefrom shall not knowingly be incinerated in any
municipal or other incinerator.
(3)
Separated glass resulting from the processing of spent mercury-containing lamps
or devices is prohibited from being used in food and beverage
containers.
(4) Handlers and
transporters of universal waste lamps and devices shall not dispose of, dilute
or treat these lamps or devices, except as specified under this chapter or by
responding to a release. Mercury-containing lamps or devices that have been
identified as hazardous wastes and are not being managed as universal waste
lamps or devices under this chapter, may be managed in accordance with Chapter
62-730, F.A.C.
