Fla. Admin. Code Ann. R. 64B3-5.0011 - Definitions
(1) "AAB" means The American Association of
Bioanalysts.
(2) "ABB" means The
American Board of Bioanalysis.

"ABCC" means American Board of Clinical Chemistry.
(4) "ABD" means American Board of
Dermatology.
(5) "ABFT" means
American Board of Forensic Toxicology.
(6) "ABHES" means The Accrediting Bureau of
Health Education Schools.
(7)
"ABHI" means The American Board of Histocompatibility and
Immunogenetics.
(8) "ABIM" means
American Board of Internal Medicine.
(9) "ABMG" means American Board of Medical
Genetics.
(10) "ABMLI" means
American Board of Medical Laboratory Immunology.
(11) "ABMM" means American Board of Medical
Microbiology.
(12) "ABNM" means
American Board of Nuclear Medicine.
(13) "ABOMP" means American Board of Oral
& Maxillofacial Pathology.

(26) "CG" means Cytogenetics.
(27) "CHS" means Certified Histocompatibility
Specialist.
(28) "CHT" means
Certified Histocompatibility Technologist.
(29) "CT" means Cytotechnologist.
(30) "DLM" means Diplomat Laboratory
Management.
(31) "ELD" means
Embryology Laboratory Director.
(32) "GS" means General Supervisor.
(33) "HCLD" means High Complexity Laboratory
Director.
(34) "HT" means
Histotechnician.
(35) "HTL" means
Histotechnologist.
(36) "MB" means
Microbiology.
(37) "MDT" means
Molecular Diagnostics Technologist.
(38) "MLT" means Medical Laboratory
Technician.
(39) "MLS" means
Medical Laboratory Scientist.

(52) "Academic Science"
means college level courses in the areas of chemistry, biology, physiology,
anatomy, microbiology, immunology, genetics, physics and molecular biology,
defined in Rule 64B3-2.003, F.A.C. The term does
not include applied science as defined in subsection
64B3-2.003(6),
F.A.C.
(53) "Bachelor's Degree"
means a four year baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or
university.
(54) "Bachelor's Degree
in Medical Technology" means a four year baccalaureate degree earned at an
accredited program, pursuant to subsection
64B3-2.003(9),
F.A.C.
(55) "Medical Technology
Training Program" means an ABHES, CAAHEP, NAACLS, board approved training
program for clinical/medical laboratory scientists or medical technologists,
pursuant to subsections
64B3-2.003(9) and
(16), F.A.C., or Department of Defense
programs that are equivalent to a board approved training program.
(56) "Semester Hour" means one hour of credit
in an accredited college or university, pursuant to subsection
64B3-2.003(1),
F.A.C., or foreign education equated, pursuant to subsection
64B3-6.002(6),
F.A.C.
(57) This rule shall be
reviewed, and if necessary, repealed, modified, or renewed through the
rulemaking process five years from effective date.
