Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. R. 120-3-27-.30 - Pumps
(1) Pumps and
motors shall be provided to circulate the water in the splash pool and slide.
Performance of all filter pumps shall meet the conditions of flow required for
filtering and cleaning (if applicable) the filters against the total head
developed by the complete system. Flume pumps and motors shall be of adequate
size, as specified by the flume manufacturer, and shall meet all National
Swimming Pool Institute standards for swimming pool pumps.
(2) The pump suction header shall have a
gauge which indicates vacuum. The gauge shall be installed as close to the pump
inlet as possible.
(3) All pressure
filter systems shall have suitable removable strainers or screens before all
circulation pumps to remove solids, debris, hair, lint, and other
materials.
(4) Pump units shall be
accessible for inspection and service.
(5) All motors shall be, as a minimum, an
open drip-proof enclosure (as defined by the latest National Electrical
Manufacturers Association standards).
(6) All motors shall have thermal overload
protection.
(7) The motor frame
shall be properly grounded.
(8)
Pumps used on slides shall comply with the latest joint National Swimming Pool
Institute-National Sanitation Foundation performance standards in effect at the
time the pump is installed.
