Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. R. 163-1-1-.02 - Procedure for Requesting Rule Enactment or Change. Amended

(1) Any person whose legal rights are affected by these rules may petition the Georgia Driver's Education Commission to enact, amend or repeal any rule pertaining its primary responsibilities of the Department as set forth in O.C.G.A. § 15-21-170, et seq.
(2) The petition must set forth the proposed new regulation or amendment, or identify the rule for which repeal is sought, and the reasons therefore. In addition, the petition must include the petitioner's name and address, and a statement of their interest in the matter. The petition shall be sent by certified mail, return receipt requested, addressed to Georgia Driver's Education Commission, Attn: Request for Regulatory Change, 7 Martin Luther King, Jr., Drive, Suite 643, Atlanta, Georgia 30334.
(3) Within sixty (60) days after receipt of such petition, the Georgia Driver's Education Commission shall deny the petition in writing, stating the reasons for the denial, or shall initiate rulemaking proceedings in accordance with O.C.G.A. § 50-13-4.
