Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. R. 672-12-.04 - Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 9 Program

Scope and
Purpose. To provide capital, planning or operating assistance to public
transit agencies.
(2)
Terms
and Conditions. All eligible applicants under 200,000 population must
complete an application as outlined in Georgia Administrative Guide to
Implement the FTA Section 9 Grant Program for Urbanized Areas Under 200,000
Population. The application must also adhere to all FTA regulations
outlined in Circular 9030.1A.
(3)
Eligible Recipients. Designated public body that has the legal
authority to receive and dispense Federal funds.
(4)
Criteria for Award.
Applicants must submit a grant application to Georgia Department of
Transportation (GDOT) along with a Program of Projects. The Program of Projects
is approved by the MPO process and is advertised for public review. The grant
application is reviewed and approved by FTA.
(5)
Directions and Deadlines.
Section 9 grant applications are typically submitted to GDOT by May 1st of each
year. A consolidated grant application is submitted to FTA by July 1st. FTA
approves grants by the end of the quarter or September 30th. Information
