Haw. Code R. § 16-85-29 - Breast cancer treatment guidelines
The board adopted "Breast Cancer Treatment Alternatives" developed by the Hawaii Medical Association and the American Cancer Society as they existed on September 15, 1993 to establish standards for health care providers to follow in giving information to a patient or a patient's guardian, to ensure that the patient's consent to the performance of a mastectomy is an informed consent.
