Haw. Code R. § 19-142-22 - Inspection fees
(a) When an
application for certification of a vehicle inspection is made at an official
inspection station, an inspector may first collect the inspection fee, then
conduct the inspection pursuant to this chapter using a blank certificate of
inspection form as a checklist to perform the inspection.
(b) If more than thirty days have elapsed
after failure of the applicant's vehicle to qualify for certification, a
complete inspection shall be made of the . entire vehicle and the full fee for
another inspection may be charged by the inspector.
(c) An inspection station may charge a
maximum fee determined by the director for the replacement of destroyed, stolen
or lost inspection certificate and sticker.
(d) An inspection station may charge for the
inspection, when required, of aftermarket sun screening devices affixed to the
glazing materials of a vehicle. The maximum fee shall be determined by the
director.
(e) An inspection station
may charge the following inspection fees:
(1)
Not more than $12.00 plus tax for each safety inspection performed.
(A) The director shall collect from the
operator of an official inspection station, a fee of $1.50 for each motor
carrier vehicle safety inspection decal issued by the official inspection
station. (The amount of $.75 shall be for the left half of the sticker,
designating the month of expiration of the inspection certificate; and the
amount of $.75 shall be for the right half of the sticker, designating the year
of expiration of the inspection certificate.); and
(2) A fee of not more than $5.00 plus tax may
be charged for testing of light transmittance, with a window light
transmittance meter, of aftermarket sun screening devices affixed to the
glazing materials of a vehicle.
