Haw. Code R. § 19-31.1-1 - Definitions

Unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, as used in this chapter:

"Aircraft" means any contrivance used or designed for navigation of or flight in the air, including, but not limited to, airplanes, helicopters, and gliders.

"Department" means the State of Hawaii department of transportation.

"Owner" means any person who claims, expressly or otherwise, lawful care, custody, or control of an aircraft by virtue of legal title or equitable interest therein which entitle that person to possession, or a lessee of a leased aircraft which lease excludes the title holder from any rights to use or possession of the aircraft while under lease to the lessee.

"Public airport" means an airport under the jurisdiction of the State of Hawaii.
