Ill. Admin. Code tit. 62, § 1780.13 - Operation Plan: Blasting
Each application shall contain a blasting plan for the proposed permit area, explaining how the applicant will comply with the requirements of 62 Ill. Adm. Code 1816.61 through 1816.68 and including the following:
a) This
plan shall include, at a minimum, information setting forth the limitations the
operator will meet with regard to ground vibration and airblast, the bases for
those limitations, and the methods to be applied in controlling the adverse
effects of blasting operations.
b)
Each application shall contain a description of any system to be used to
monitor compliance with the standards of 62 Ill. Adm. Code
1816.67
including the type, capability, and sensitivity of any blast-monitoring
equipment and proposed procedures and locations of monitoring.
c) Blasting operations within five hundred
(500) feet of active underground mines require approval of the Department and
Federal Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).
