460 IAC 2-4-5 - Qualifications of applicant

Sec. 5.

In order to be accepted for training in the BEP, an applicant must:

(1) be:
(A) legally blind;
(B) at least eighteen (18) years of age;
(C) a United States citizen; and
(D) hold a high school diploma or equivalent;
(2) be:
(A) a client of vocational rehabilitation services; and
(B) referred for the BEP by vocational rehabilitation services;
(3) have:
(A) adequate orientation and mobility skills to travel independently;
(B) skills sufficient to communicate with the public in a courteous manner; and
(C) the ability to develop and maintain working relationships with others;
(4) be able to maintain required records and reports;
(5) have:
(A) mathematical skills sufficient to operate a small business; and
(B) independent daily living skills sufficient to allow the applicant to meet personal care and facility maintenance needs.
