Iowa Admin. Code r. 193-7.7 - [Effective until 8/14/2024] Legal representation
(1) Every statement of charges and notice of
hearing prepared by the board shall be reviewed and approved by the office of
the attorney general, which shall be responsible for the legal representation
of the public interest in all proceedings before the board. The assistant
attorney general assigned to prosecute a contested case before the board shall
not represent the board in that case but shall represent the public
interest.
(2) The respondent or
applicant may be represented by an attorney. The attorney shall file an
appearance in the contested case. If the attorney is not licensed to practice
law in Iowa, the attorney shall comply with Iowa Court Rule 31.14. Business
entities may be represented in a contested case by a nonlawyer partner,
officer, director, shareholder, member, director, or other owner or
manager.
