Iowa Admin. Code r. 282-13.11 - [Effective until 2/26/2025] Specific requirements for a Class B license
A Class B license, which is valid for two years and which is nonrenewable, may be issued to an individual under the following conditions:
(1)
Endorsement in
progress. The individual has a valid initial, standard, master
educator, permanent professional, Class A extension, exchange, or professional
service license and one or more endorsements but is seeking to obtain some
other endorsement. A Class B license may be issued if requested by an employer
and if the individual seeking to obtain some other endorsement has completed at
least one-half of the content requirements leading to completion of all
requirements for the endorsement. A Class B license may not be issued for the
driver's education endorsement.
(2)
Program of study. The college or university must outline the
program of study necessary to meet the endorsement requirements for specified
areas. This program of study must be attached to the application.
(3)
Request for executive director
decision. If the minimum content requirements have not been met for
the Class B license, a one-year executive director decision license may be
issued if requested by the school district and if the school district can
demonstrate that a candidate with the proper endorsement was not found after a
diligent search. The executive director decision license may not be renewed and
will expire on June 30 of the fiscal year in which it was issued.
(4)
Expiration. The Class B
license will expire on June 30 of the fiscal year in which it was issued plus
one year.
