Iowa Admin. Code r. 761-602.23 - Chauffeur's instruction permit
(1)
Validity and issuance.
a. A chauffeur's instruction permit is
apermit that is added to a Class D license or a noncommercial Class C license
that is not a special license or permit.
b. The license with the permit is valid for
operating:
(1) A motor vehicle that may be
legally operated under the class of license (and for Class D, the endorsement)
held by the licensee, including a motorized bicycle.
(2) A motor vehicle, other than a commercial
motor vehicle or a motorcycle, as a chauffeur if accompanied by a person with a
valid Class D license or a commercial driver's license valid for the vehicle
being operated.
c. The
permit is issued for two years.

Requirements.
a. An applicant shall be at least 18 years of
age.
