Kan. Admin. Regs. § 1-6-26a - Limited-term positions

(a) "Limited-term position" means a position in the classified service that is scheduled to terminate within a predetermined period of time, as stipulated in grant specifications or other contractual agreements.
(b) Each individual in a limited-term position shall be notified at the time of hiring of the expiration date of the grant or contractual agreement. No employee with permanent status may be transferred to a limited-term position without the written consent of that employee. The end date of the position shall be entered on the employee's personnel record at the time of hiring.
(c) Each individual in a limited-term position shall be terminated on the end date of that position, subject to any extensions of the limited-term position. The termination of any employee who serves the full length of a limited-term position shall not be considered a layoff of that employee, and the provisions of K.S.A. 75-2948, and amendments thereto, and any regulations adopted under that statute shall not apply to the employee.
