Kan. Admin. Regs. § 1-6-8 - Selection instruments
(a) Each appointing
authority shall develop selection instruments to fairly assess the capacity and
fitness of applicants to perform the duties of the position in which employment
is sought. Selection instruments may include ratings of training, experience,
and other qualifications, written tests, performance tests, interviews,
physical fitness tests, assessment center evaluations, medical examinations, or
other selection procedures. In accordance with these regulations, the
appointing authority shall be responsible for developing, maintaining, and
validating selection instruments and shall make all selection instruments,
procedures, records, or other selection materials available to the director
upon request. Any agency, upon request, may be assisted by the director in
developing, maintaining, and validating selection instruments. Selection
instruments may also be developed, maintained, and validated by the director.
(b) Promotional selection
instruments shall include, in addition to any or all of the selection
instruments identified above, consideration of the applicant's performance and
length of service.
(c) Subject to
policies established by the appointing authority to protect the confidentiality
of information obtained by using the selection instruments, the document or
records containing this information may be inspected by the applicant.
(d) This regulation shall be
effective on and after June 5, 2005.
