06-096 C.M.R. ch. 163, § 3 - Program Participation
A.To the extent
money is available in the fund:
1 The
participating dealer may solicit and consider applications from owners of
uncertified woodstoves for rebates, on a first-come, first-served basis, for
replacement of such wood stoves with replacement heating appliances as
specified in Section 5 of this Chapter.
2 The Department may issue requests for
proposals from municipalities, non-governmental organizations, or other
entities for grants awarded by the Department to administer a wood stove
replacement program using monies from the fund consistent with the criteria set
forth in this Chapter.
B. To be eligible to receive a rebate under
this Chapter, the participating dealer shall provide the following information
to the administering entity or the Department under subsection 3(A)(2) of this
Chapter, in response to a solicitation for applications:
1 Documentation that the wood stove subject
to replacement is an uncertified wood stove that is used as the primary
household heating appliance in a primary residence;
2 A description of the replacement heating
appliance that meets the requirements in this Chapter;
3 Documentation of qualification for the low
income home energy assistance program (LIHEAP) issued by the Maine State
Housing authority, Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Supplemental Nutrition
Assistance Program (SNAP) and other low income programs approved by the
Department, if applicable; and
4
Any other information required in the solicitation for applications, or
otherwise required in writing by the Department.
