10-144 C.M.R. ch. 509, § I - INTRODUCTION
1. This rule establishes definitions,
procedures, and criteria necessary for the implementation of amendments to
A. Define criteria for designating
underserved areas and populations related to specialty physician services;
excluding primary care specialty.
B. Provide criteria for designating a
hospital as underserved by a specialty physician.
C. Provide criteria for designating
eligibility of specialty physicians to practice in underserved areas.
2. The official designation of
underserved areas and eligible sites will be endorsed by the Commissioner of
the Department of Human Services.
