Md. Code Regs. 09.32.01.02 - Definitions
A. In this chapter,
the following terms have the meanings indicated.
B. Terms Defined.
(1) "Contributor" means an employing unit
liable for contributions on taxable wages for covered employment.
(2) "Covered employment" means service
performed for an employing unit that is subject to the Unemployment Insurance
Law as determined by the Secretary.
(3) "Department" means the Department of
Labor, Licensing, and Regulation.
(4) "Reimburser" means a nonprofit
organization or governmental unit, as defined in the Unemployment Insurance
Law, that elects to finance its Unemployment Insurance liability through
self-insurance.
(5) "Secretary"
means the Secretary of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation or the Secretary's
designee.
(6) "Unemployment
Insurance Law" means Labor and Employment Article, Title 8, Annotated Code of
Maryland.
C. Unless the
context indicates otherwise, all other terms used in this chapter shall have
the same meanings as in the Unemployment Insurance Law or in COMAR
09.32.02.
