Mich. Admin. Code R. 400.14407 - Bathrooms
Rule 407.
(1)
Bathrooms and toilet facilities that do not have windows shall have forced
ventilation to the outside. Bathroom windows that are used for ventilation
shall open easily.
(2) Toilets,
bathtubs, and showers shall provide for individual privacy.
(3) Bathrooms shall have doors. Only
positive-latching, non-locking-against-egress hardware may be used. Hooks and
eyes, bolts, bars, and other similar devices shall not be used on bathroom
doors.
(4) A home shall have a
minimum of 1 toilet, 1 lavatory, and 1 bathing facility for every 8 occupants
of the home.
(5) At least 1 toilet
and 1 lavatory that are available for resident use shall be provided on each
floor that has resident bedrooms.
(6) At least 1 bathing facility that is
available for resident use shall be provided on each floor that has resident
bedrooms.
(7) The provisions of
subrule (6) of this rule shall not apply to those licensees who are licensed on
the effective date of these rules and whose licenses have been in continuous
effect.
