Rule 4207.
(1)
"Rod gland" means a sleeve at the bottom of a cylinder through which a piston
rod passes.
(2) "Safety factor"
means the ratio of the breaking strength of a piece of material or object to
the actual safe load or working stress when in use.
(3) "Steam or pneumatic hammer" means a
hammer using steam or air to provide energy in a cylinder to raise the hammer
for a gravity drop and in case of a double action hammer to increase the force
of the impact on the forging.
