Mich. Admin. Code R. 408.14226 - Use of lead
Rule 4226. The following safety requirements apply to lead casts or other use of lead in a forge shop or die shop:
(a) Thermostatic control of heating elements
shall be provided to maintain melting temperature at not more than 750 degrees
Fahrenheit.
(b) A covered container
shall be provided to store dross skimmings.
(c) Equipment shall be kept clean,
particularly from accumulations of lead oxide.
(d) A sign shall be posted in the work area
prohibiting eating in the area and calling attention to dangers of oral
ingestion of lead dust from hands and clothing.
