Mich. Admin. Code R. 408.14552 - Hot chamber pots and chutes
Rule 4552.
(1)
A hot chamber machine shall be provided with a sheet metal shield extending
from the cover die platen beyond and on each side of the injection mechanism
and the holding furnace. The shield shall contain any splashing of molten metal
which may be caused by the injection system or by the furnace recharging
operation. A window may be inserted for flame observation.
(2) A metal chute shall be provided for
filling the holding furnace except where the molten metal can be transferred to
the holding furnace without splash.
