Mich. Admin. Code R. 408.7074 - Car enclosure tops
Rule 74. Section 17.7 of the ANSI A10.4 standard is amended to read as follows:
17.7 Tops
of car enclosures shall be so designed and installed to be capable of
sustaining a load of 300 pounds (136 kg) on any square area 2 feet (0.6 m) on a
side and 100 pounds (45 kg) applied at any point. Simultaneous application of
these loads is not required. The personnel hoist shall have overhead protection
equivalent to 2-inch plank. The planks shall be secured.
The exit cover shall be hinged and locked and open outward.
