3 CSR 10-5.300 - Apprentice Hunter Authorization

PURPOSE: This rule provides for an Apprentice Hunter Authorization which will allow a person born on or after January 1, 1967 but at least sixteen (16) years of age to purchase firearms hunting permits so that they may hunt without hunter education certification in the presence of a properly licensed hunter education certified adult who is twenty-one (21) years of age or older.

To allow the purchase of firearms hunting permits (except black bear and elk as provided in 3 CSR 10-5.205) by persons born on or after January 1, 1967, and at least sixteen (16) years of age without display of a hunter education certificate card. This authorization may be purchased annually for no more than two (2) permit years (March 1 through the last day of February). Fee: ten dollars and fifty cents ($10.50).
