Nev. Admin. Code § 444.8388 - Elevated mound system: General requirements
1. An elevated
mound system consists of:
(a) A suitable fill
material;
(b) An absorption area
and distribution network; and
(c) A
soil cap.
2. With an
elevated mound system:
(a) The effluent must
be gravity fed, pumped or siphoned into the absorption area and through a
distribution network located in the upper part of the absorption bed made of
coarse aggregate;
(b) The effluent
must pass through the aggregate and infiltrate the fill material; and
(c) Treatment of the wastewater must occur as
it passes through the fill material and the unsaturated zone of the natural
soil.
3. An individual
sewage disposal system that uses an elevated mound system must be designed by
an engineer.
