Nev. Admin. Code § 633.250 - Continuing education required for renewal of license
1. Each osteopathic physician applying for
renewal of his or her license shall provide to the Board any certificates of
completion or other proof satisfactory to the Board demonstrating that he or
she has attended during the preceding year at least 35 hours of continuing
education courses or programs approved by the Board, which must include at
least:
(a) Ten hours of category 1A courses;
and
(b) Two hours that relate to
the misuse and abuse of controlled substances, the prescribing of opioids or
addiction.
2. On or
after July 1, 2018, each osteopathic physician shall, not later than 2 years
after initial licensure and at least once every 4 years thereafter, attest to
the Board when applying for renewal of his or her license that he or she has
received the instruction on evidence-based suicide prevention and awareness
required by NRS
633.471.
3. As used in this section, "category 1A
course" means a course of continuing medical education that is offered by a
sponsor accredited to offer such a course by the American Osteopathic
Association or the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical
Education.
