Nev. Admin. Code § 703.690 - Authority of presiding officer
1. The presiding
officer shall:
(a) Call a hearing to order and
take the appearances of the parties who are present.
(b) Hold appropriate conferences before or
during the hearing.
(c) Receive and
rule on the admissibility of evidence.
(d) Rule on the admissibility of amendments
to the pleadings.
(e) Act upon any
pending motions or petitions which do not involve a final determination of the
proceeding.
(f) Make proposed
opinions, findings and conclusions of law.
(g) Issue appropriate interim
orders.
(h) Recess the hearing as
required.
(i) Rule on all
procedural matters.
(j) Set
reasonable limits of time for the presentation of oral testimony.
2. At the discretion of the
presiding officer, the parties may make opening statements.
