Nev. Admin. Code § 704.332 - Deposit: Payment in installments
1. A customer who
is required to pay a deposit must be permitted to enter into a written
agreement with the utility for payment of the deposit in
installments.
2. Except as
otherwise provided in NAC 704.341, if such an agreement is entered into:
(a) The customer may be required to pay:
(1) An amount equal to at least one-third of
the deposit, if it is more than $50, before service is provided;
(2) The remainder of the deposit, in not more
than two equal installments, not later than 30 and 60 days, respectively, after
the date of the agreement; and
(3)
Interest, at a rate set forth in the tariff of the utility, on the unpaid
portion of the deposit.
(b) The service of the customer may be
terminated without notice for any failure to pay the deposit as agreed and, in
such a case, the customer may be required to pay the full amount of the
deposit, plus any other money owed the utility, before service is
restored.
(c) The agreement must:
(1) Specify the date on which each
installment is due; and
(2) Contain
a statement of the provisions of this section. The right of the utility to
terminate the service of the customer for any failure to pay the deposit must
be stated in boldface type.
