N.Y. Comp. Codes R. & Regs. Tit. 12 §§ 326-1.7 - Conduct of hearing

The county medical society, or the workers' compensation committee of a county medical society, in the conduct of a hearing shall not be bound by common law or statutory rules of evidence, or by technical or formal rules of procedure, except as provided herein; and may make such investigation or inquiry and conduct such hearing in the manner it deems advisable and necessary.
