N.Y. Comp. Codes R. & Regs. Tit. 18 § 441.16 - Disaster and emergency plans
(a) Each
child care agency must have a written plan detailing the procedures to be
followed in caring for children in the event of an emergency or disaster, such
as fire, earthquake, hurricane, flood or energy failure. The agency must
coordinate such plan with such local community or county disaster or emergency
plans as may be applicable. The agency must advise all its employees of such
disaster and emergency plan and each employee's responsibility under such plan.
A copy of the plan must be forwarded to the department.
(b) Each child care agency must develop
procedures for obtaining timely medical care for sick or injured children. Such
procedures and appropriate medical emergency telephone numbers must be made
available to staff and posted in each living area. Each child care faciity must
post in each dining area an approved New York State Health Department poster
that illusrates procedures to be utilized in assisting choking
victims.
