N.Y. Comp. Codes R. & Regs. Tit. 21 § 302.4 - Speed limits
(a) Subject to
posted signs and subject to directions by any employee or agent of the
authority, no person shall operate a vehicle on the bridge or on its approaches
in excess of the following maximum speed limits:
(1) 25 miles per hour in or upon the
bridge;
(2) 15 miles per hour in or
upon the approach located within 150 feet north of the toll booth;
and
(3) 15 miles per hour in or
upon the approach located within 475 feet south of the toll booth.
(b) All vehicles shall come to a
full stop when paying tolls at the toll booth, and shall slow down when
approaching the toll booth in order to come safely to a full stop.
(c) No person shall operate a vehicle on the
bridge or on any of its approaches at a speed that is greater than is
reasonable and prudent under the conditions and having regard to the actual and
potential hazards then existing. Under no conditions shall the speed exceed the
limits established in these rules and regulations.
(d) Nothing herein contained shall be
construed to apply to police and fire department vehicles, ambulances and to
other emergency vehicles.
