Ohio Admin. Code 4713-7-11 - Temporary pre-examination work permit

Qualified applicants for examination under Chapters 4709. and 4713. of the Revised Code are eligible for a temporary pre-examination work permit.

(A) Every applicant who desires to practice cosmetology or a branch thereof prior to examination shall obtain a temporary pre-examination work permit from the board. The temporary pre-examination work permit actively authorizes the holder to engage in the licensed practice for which they are awaiting examination of cosmetology or branch of cosmetology under the supervision of a board licensee. The temporary pre-examination work permit may be extended one time by the board. However, no person is entitled to more than one extension, and applicants are not permitted to practice beyond the date of the extension. The temporary pre-examination work permit of a person who fails any part of the examination shall not be extended.
(B) On the date of examination, after successfully passing the examination, the temporary pre-examination work permit may be extended to allow the applicant to continue to work pending receipt of the applicant's license. Applicants will not be permitted to practice beyond the expiration date of the extension.
