Ohio Admin. Code 5537-4-02 - Evasion of toll
No operator of a motor vehicle shall
enter or leave the turnpike except through the tollplaza lanes (except in case
of an emergency, and, in such case, such entrance or exit may be made only
under the control and supervision of a police officer or a service vehicle from
an official turnpike contract garage.) No operator of a motor vehicle on the
turnpike shall commit any act or omission with intent to defraud or evade
payment of a toll. Operators of a motor vehicle who are observed attempting to
defraud or evade payment of a toll while on the turnpike may be cited by a
police officer. Each instance in which the operator of a motor vehicle has
failed to remit payment of a toll to the commission for more than thirty days
after issuance of a notice by the commission to the operator that the toll is
due shall be considered a willful attempt to defraud or evade payment of the
toll. In each such instance, the commission may assess an additional fine of
one hundred dollars against the operator of the motor vehicle who has failed to
pay a toll for a period of more than thirty days.
