Okla. Admin. Code § 1:2022-15

EXECUTIVE ORDER 2022-15

I, Matt Pinnell, Acting-Governor of the State of Oklahoma, hereby direct the appropriate steps be taken to fly all American and Oklahoma flags on State property at half-staff from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 25, 2022, to honor the life and service of Sgt. Christopher James "CJ" Nelson, who was tragically killed July 19, 2022, while serving in the line of duty for the Edmond Police Department.

A 13-year veteran of the department, Sgt. Nelson's exemplary service to the Edmond Police Department and our state will not be forgotten. Sadly, Sgt. Nelson leaves behind a loving family, including his wife, Jenefer, and two children, Emily and Conner. A celebration of Sgt. Nelson's life is scheduled for Monday, July 25, 2022, at Crossings Community Church. I encourage all Oklahomans to honor our fallen officers by celebrating their faithful service to the public. The state of Oklahoma recognizes not only our law enforcement officers but the families of those who continue to protect and serve our communities and the sacrifices they make daily.

This executive order shall be forwarded to the Division of Capital Assets Management, who shall cause the provisions of this order to be implemented by all appropriate agencies of state government.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Oklahoma to be affixed at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on this 22nd day of July, 2022.

BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA

Matt Pinnell
